Growing up in Kuala Lumpur, I didn’t get to go to many pumpkin patches as a kid (ie: none). So imagine my surprise when my boyfriend took me to a pumpkin patch as part of my birthday celebrations + early Halloween planning! 😀
Of course, the new phone case I got is a little larger than my previous one, which means that I have a finger-shaped shadow in the corner of all my photos. Egads. Anywho, the pumpkin patch we went to was only about a 30 minute drive from Bloomington, and there were quite a lot of nice-looking pumpkins strewn about.
In addition to the pumpkin patch, the owners had set up a nice little decorated corner of their barn (barn thing? garage?), where they had a bunch of pumpkins, assorted gourds, and dried corn crafts. Nice little place for a photoshoot.
I’ve seen the mini pumpkins being sold at grocery stores before, but I’ve never actually bought them because I didn’t know what to do with them. I was told that they were less for eating than they were for decorating. Time to whip out the sharpies! Unfortunately, the farm only accepted cash and we only just had enough money for one large pumpkin. Mini-pumpkin will just have to wait. 😦

We settled on a nice, large, flat pumpkin for about $10. I’m not sure how expensive pumpkins are supposed to be, but it seemed a fair price. *shrug*
They also had a mini petting zoo thing for little children (and silly adults like me). There were only a couple of goats and a couple of donkeys, but I had never touched a donkey before, so that was exciting. And smelly. Yay!
